I love Christmastime. I love giving gifts, especially to children. I love to see the glow in their eyes. But in spite of that, we haven't had a "real" Christmas tree since we got married. It's not that I haven't wanted one, we just don't have the room for one. In fact, I passed all my ornaments to Katie last year.
Well, this year is different. Emily is so excited about Christmas and I just didn't feel like we could forego the tree. So we moved a few things out and moved a few things around and made a place for a tree.
She was so cute picking out the perfect tree for us. She walked up and down the aisles. She wanted a fat tree--no a skinny tree. A tall tree--no a short one. She walked the aisles over and over, then decided on the first tree she had chosen.
When she came here after daycare today, I had the tree in the stand with the lights strung. She eagerly placed most of the decorations, which I had to buy today, along the bottom of the tree. I convinced her that she needed to put some near the top, so she let me put those on. She had to supervise each one.
She was pretty excited when it was finished and I turned the lights on. It's going to be a great Christmas this year.
