Whirlwind Days

The last few days have been such a whirlwind that I haven't taken time to update things here.

First of all--HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!! It's hard to believe that two years have gone by and that tiny little baby that weighed less than five pounds is now a toddler. What joy she has brought to our lives! It's hard to remember when we didn't have her! We went to Ville Platte for her party. As always, Mike and Peggy welcomed us to their home in style. I'm so glad Katie has become part of that family. The party was fun...all three of my children were there. It was first birthday we've all celebrated together since 1994.

We stayed in Ville Platte for a few hours and had only been home about 20 minutes when Brian called to say that Katie was sick. She wanted me to go back over there so I jumped in the truck and drove back. I stayed with her Saturday night and brought Emily home with me when I came back Sunday. Needless to say, she has kept me busy this week! I don't know how long she'll be here, but she's so fun and funny that I'm just enjoying having her!! Just imagine this scene......I put her down for a nap yesterday. She always cries for a few minutes when we put her to bed and naptime yesterday was no different. So she's in her bed "crying". Then she stopped crying and called out to me, "Yah Yah, Emily's crying", then started crying again. It was just too funny!

Next, belated HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms in my life--not only my own mother, but my sweet mother-in-law, my sisters, sisters-in-law, and friends. Each one is so special to me and has made (and continue to make) a great impact on my life.

We celebrated Mother's Day at Mamaw's house with a crawfish boil. It was fun and Maurice did a great job on the crawfish. Everyone had a great time.

We've enjoyed our time with Brian, He has spent most of his time at Kevin and Rachel's house, but just knowing that he is in Baton Rouge is great. It's so nice to have all of my children nearby!!
