We've had a wild last few days! Tuesday I had lunch with Mamaw, Papaw, and Amy. We ate at Acme Oyster House. It was really good, and really, really loud. The oysters were about the best I've ever eaten. We had a great time.
There was a terrible thunderstorm Tuesday night. Some areas were hit harder than they were with Gustav. There were lots of trees down in Bton Rouge and many power outages.
Wednesday Grace had early dismissal from school. I picked her up and we ran a few errands before we took our usual trip to the library. After we picked Grandy up from work, they played outside until almost dark. She's finally learning to jump on her pogo stick without Grandy helping her balance.
Our weather Wednesday night was terrible again and when we got to her school Thursday morning, we found out that there was no electricity, so she had no school. Kevin was home from work, so she spent the day with her dad. The worst damage from the storm was about five miles from our house where a tornado went through. Fortunately no one was hurt, even though several houses and businesses were completely destroyed.
Friday was a nice day, but once again bad thunderstorms and the threat of tornadoes was in for forecast. It rained hard, but the worst part of the storm passed us by.
Today was a picture perfect day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. In fact, it's hard to believe that nearly six inches of rain has fallen the last three nights. The rivers are very, very high. Hopefully there will be no flooding of the rivers in the area.
