things are beginning to look a little green

Emily's daycare has a color coded discipline chart. All children have clothespins that start out on green in the mornings. Misbehavior causes the pin to be moved to yellow, then to red. For weeks Emily has been on yellow or red. She's been punished day after day. So we finally decided to use bribery. And guess what..it worked.

We bought a pair of boots and told her that she could have them when she got five greens. They didn't have to be consecutive days, just five greens total. Every day that she came home with green, we let her look at the boots. And when she got to four greens, we let her "try them on". It only took her five days to earn the boots. She was so proud, and so were we. Hopefully she's learned a new behavior now and we won't need any more bribes for her to stay on green.

The boots.

Emily, proud of herself for earning them.

She's so cute. I'm glad you found something that helped. The boots are cute! :)
