Yesterday I took Emily to Blue Bayou/Dixie Landing. She was so excited when she realized where we were going. Every time we drive past there she says, "I want to go there," but up until this weekend they haven't been open. Since the Dixie Landing section opens at 2:00, I told her that I was going to take her someplace special after she took her nap. When she woke up, the first words out of her mouth were ,"Let's go someplace special!" So we loaded up and drove over there. It took a while for us to get in because we got season passes and having them printed took longer than I had hoped. But Emily waited patiently. When we were finally ready to enter the park, it started to rain; and not just a little bit. The bottom fell out. Most of the rides closed down because of the thunder and lightning. But the merry-go-round was open and so were the little vehicles. We hurried to the merry-go-round. She was so excited while we waited in line. When it was our turn, they closed it :( So we went to the little vehicles. She didn't want to ride the first time, but the second time she was ready. They closed it when it was our time. We waited and waited for the rain to stop. After a long wait we saw the train running. We hurried over there to find out that was the last run because of the rain.
It looked like the water park section was all over the whole place! The "bayou" seemed to be overflowing!! We got so wet that I had to change her clothes!
We ended up staying a couple of hours, but didn't get to ride a single ride.
On the way home Emily told me she LOVED it there.
I don't know what she'll think when she finally gets to ride some of the attractions!
