Our weekends here are quickly beginning to dwindle in number, so we're trying to make the most of each one. This one was busy.
Friday night we went to eat at a place that had all you can eat boiled shrimp. We had heard they were good from a couple we know that had been there last week, but this couple is from Minnesota, so I wasn't really sure that they even knew what good shrimp were! But they were right, the shrimp were delicious. And even though it was all you could eat, I don't think they were quite prepared for a coonass and a coonass wannabe because they ran out. But we had lots to eat, so it wasn't a problem. They had a nice jazz duo playing music, and the sunset was beautiful. It was a nice evening.
Saturday Andy had to work until 1:00, but as soon as he got home we went to Cane Bay so he and Andreas could go diving. I had already decided that last weekend I had two dive trips in one--a first and a last--and I was just going to sit on the beach to wait for them. After their dive, we drove into Fredericksted, which is one of the two towns on the island. It had a completely different atmosphere from Christiansted. We walked down the pier where cruise ships have docked in the past. The fort there was really pretty--the cannons were ready to ward off any pirates that may come their way. After that, we ate a nice dinner at the Sunset Grill. It was good, and we saw another nice sunset.
Yesterday we mostly stayed around the condo. We did go down to Smuggler's Cove to eat a hamburger for supper. They make the best hamburgers I've ever eaten.
It was a great weekend all the way around.
