A Fun Saturday

We spent the afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. It was really nice. The gardens are on the site of an old sugar plantation, and the ruins are still standing. There were several sections, one of cacti, one of orchids, a rainforest area, and several others. It was really pretty and we had lots of fun.




After the gardens, we went into Christiansted. The two guys we were with went to get a bite to eat and Andy and I decided to sit and look at the harbor and watch the people. We met the nicest couple who is retired from NASA and now living on their sailboat. We talked to them for quite a while, and they took our phone number so we could go on the boat with them one day in the next few days. They want to go to Buck Island, which is a well-known island nearby. From what we've heard, Buck Island is the place to go for snorkeling and scuba diving. So we're really looking forward to going there as well as seeing our new friends, Jerry and Azenitha, again.
