My black thumb is turning green

I don't know why or how it happened, but this is my Christmas cactus. It was given to me by a friend last year for Christmas. After the holidays, I put it on my front porch and basically expected it to survive on it's own. Well, apparently it did a pretty good job of surviving because it is just beautiful. I brought it inside when I realized it was going to bloom, but I had no idea it would be so pretty. I guess the lesson to be learned here is that if you really do have a black thumb like I do, plants do better trying to fend for themselves.
